This is a portrait study we did in class and we were supposed to tie it in to this weeks theme. I figured drawing a fruit in the middle of all these faces would look a little weird so I did some citrisy colored watercolor washes over parts of it.

Neighbor

After a couple of tries at neighbor, this is what I finally came up with. It's two boats rafted up. It's when one boat puts down its anchor and then another boat will tie up to it. I figured that these two boats could be considered temporary "neighbors"

Polar

This is a sun set in the north pole when the moon is the closest to the earth. I did this with water colored pencils which I have never really used before. I thought I would try something different.

To most people a single quarter would seem like useless spare change, but to this five year old it seems like a fortune.

I spy with my little eye... something blue. For this weeks illustration we were suposed to draw a cityscape on newspaper with charcol and pastels, so I came up with this!

This started out as just a tree and then I added pastels in the background. We were suposed to make it look like stained glass. I'm not sure if mine has that effect but it was close.

This is a painting we did in class from a still life. We started out painting it in a grey scale. Then we masked it and glazed it. This is how mine turned out.

TOTAL bareness. After a long winter this little tree in my back yard was totally bare.

Wired

After thinking for a long time about what to do I finially got an idea from my cousin. After eating many Girl Scout cookies he had way to much energy and was wired! So I figured I would draw a little kid making a wierd face because they had too much sugar in their system!

For this entry my teacher told us we had to draw a still life. I had a hard time coming up with an idea but I decided to draw a spin off of the word hide. Instead of hide I drew things from my favorite HIDEaway, the beach.

Communication

This symbol means "I love you" in sign language, another form of communication.

Gravity

Gravity is a big part of our everyday lives. With out it this skydiver would not be falling.

Crash

The sound of something that has been broken almost always makes a CRASH!

Sprout

These tiny little sprouts inbetween the bricks of my patio turned out to be a good idea for this weeks topic. I never thought they would come in handy.
